Final MBBS Professional Exams

so if you guys dont know, im in my final year of medical school! and my final, like the most final exam to determine you to be a doctor is in september, which is like another 3 months from now!

fyi, i still dont know how to study for the exams. like seriously this is the most un prepared exams ever! i know, like crazy! gila apa dia ni nak  final medic tapi x prepare..hukhuk..i still dont have any planning yet for the exams. usually i will come up with a plan of how to study, but this time tak de! and im so scared !!!

with the new system implemented on us, i just dont know if i can do it in the finals. the format is so different from the normal format that we usually did for the past 4 years, and that is the most scariest part. i dont know if i manage to answer the question paper or not in coming exams.hukhuk...

ok,ini la keluhan hatiku buat masa ni..haha...doakan semoga i lepas my exams please! i dont want to extend my stay in india ni..huuuu.....please please pray for me. thank you!!!

First Oncal and First Perrectal

the hematoma

Now I'm in operation theater, waiting for appendisectomy surgery but end up tengok brain surgery for hematoma. Btw this is my first time doing oncal for surgery posting. Tapi sampai pukul 8pm jek.teheee..

Owh yah, td sy tengok colonoscopy for 2 patients. Perghh agak nasty jugak la this procedure with the stools and all.

Patient 1 - old lady, came with lower GIT bleeding. On colonoscopy, mucosa edematous. Biopsy taken to rule out any malignancy.

Patient 2 - old man with anemia. did my first perrectal for this patient. no abnormality detected.

Tadi time colonoscopy, Dr anil boleh plak selamba mkn biscuit sambil tgk the procedure. LoL.

P/s - jumpa Dr Cristopher and dia sgt cool and baik.skee!:p

Psychiatry Posting

Yesterday, Dr deepak told us yang arini kemungkinan besar ada exam end posting for psychiatry. Dalam hati sy fikir, tak mungkin la sy sempat exam arini, since my matric number agak last2. so takkan la sempat ye dak?dah la pesakit psychiatry kat ward setakat 2-3 orang jek sehari. jadi malam semalam sy melagha dengan berjaya sekali. latest running man episode dah keluar, yeyy! sambil tengok running man, sambil fikir, xpe, esok exam tengahari start. pagi tu sempat baca lagi.

Pagi ni bangun dengan perasaan bersalah, gosh i need to start study for the exam! so pegi kelas, lepak di library and sempat la baca 2-3 kerat. tiba2 kena panggil for tutorial. dang! tutorial pon tak baca. aduyai... pegi tutorial, kejap2 pandang dr deepak, kejap2 pandang lantai. tolong la jgn tanya akuu.

Habis tutorial, pegi makan kat kantin dengan kawan2. then tiba2 dengar denin and ira nak balik umah. hurm, menarik..so, sy pon gamble balik umah dengan harapan xde exam harini. pastu makcik denin ajak tengok movie al-hijab plak dah. alaah, tengok movie sejam lebih apa la sangat, ye dak?lagipon exam esok, banyak lagi masa nak baca. so i watched the movie happily sampai abis, bila tiba2 nadiot call bagitau doc nak buat exam semua sekali arini. oh mannnn!! terusss sarung tudung indon and off we go to hospital balik. grrr..

on the way pegi kelas tu, apa lagii, speeeeed readingggg!! kelam kabut baca dalam auto. nasib baik dapat pakcik auto yang bawak dengan cermat. kalau tak , ada yang kena motion sickness plak. sempat la baca sikit2 dalam auto tu. ''anti depression drugs - ANTIDEP!! ( amitriptiline, nortrptyline.tri imipramine,imipramine, doxepine, protriptiline) , history taking, bla bla bla''.

sampai2 hospital, baca 10 minutes, terus kena panggil ngan doc untuk ambik history from patient. haiz...nasib baik la exam psychiatry ni, kena ambik history and buat MSE jek. tak payah buat examination. masa viva tu, ok la. nasib dapat Dr Darleen, tapi lama pulak dia duk viva. macam2 dia tanya. huhu. and im actually confused nak diagnose the patient, whether he had bipolar or depression. symptoms macam depression, tapi ada jugak tanda2 macam bipolar.huu.. whatever it is, exam dah habisss!

Maka harini, tamat la riwayat posting psychiatry ku. and this is the first and last psychiatry posting for me. ada la few cases yang menarik, tapi kebanyakan nye case alcohol withdrawal, depression, anxiety, and suicidal. yup, banyak case suicide kat india ni. ada yang nak gantung diri, ada yang ingest poison. senang betul diorng nak cabut nyawa sendiri.huhu. tapi rasanya kalau psychiatry kat malaysia lagi menarik kot. yela, banyak case histeria la, rasuk la, mcm2 lagi. aritu nazmi cerita, masa dia posting psychiatry, jumpa patient yang tiba2 nyanyi la, menjerit la,mcm2. kat india ni xde la plak. maybe sy yg tak sempat jumpa kot.

anyways, sebenarnya posting psychiatry best sebab sangat relaks. haha. rutin harian lebih kurang jek. pagi pegi ward round tu pon jumpa 1-2 patient jek. then sapa2 kena ambik case, leh pegi ambik case. yang lain melepak jek. or if not, ada tutorial or seminar. then kadang2 lecture. but most of the time, saya duk melepak kat library jek, tido. bahagia tul. ;p .

i don't know whats wrong. why its so hard to know you. why can't you cooperate with me? i never done anything wrong towards you. never did i hate you before but now..i change my mind.

ah ophtalmoscope, sampai ati kauuuu!
sampai hati tak nak tolong org tgh belajar ni. why dont u cooperate with me? annoying much.
tadi kami ada kelas examination of retina. praktical actually. and doctor ajar cara2 nak tengok fundus of eye using opthalmoscope. the thing is, benda yang nak tgk tu dah la sangat kecik, can u imagine looking through the pupil of eye untuk cari all the blood vessels, optic disc, macula, etc2..susah kottt..and i cant see all those thing tu. asal ntah!

and this is how you examine the patient's eye. look through their pupil macam ni. doctor cakap lagi dekat kamu dengan patient, lagi nampak.

dlm piture ni x cukup dekat lagi, doctor suh pegi lagiii dekat ngn muka org tu.heh. ye, kami yang praktis on each other nak tgk mata masing2 dah macam nak cium pipi masing2 dah. nasib baik perempuan buat kat perempuan, boys with boys. kalau laki buat kat perempuan camni, tak ke naya. bukan leh caya dak2 laki kelas kami ni!

and this is the you are supposed to see guna benda alah tu. nampak kan yang berseliarat tu blood vessels. to locate the optic cup/optic dics, we need to follow the route of the vessels which lead us to the optic disc. kalau ikut picture ni, its on the left side.

and my problem is, i can't even see the vessels! sme nampak merah jek. and through opthalmoscope, takdela kita nampak image sebesar ni. kita kena tengok benda yang sekecil like 1.5 mm je!erghh...

haih xepla, ni baru first time kitorng try guna benda ni.. next time sy akan try guna lagi. harap2 lain kali boleh nampak lak!

hello people!

Esok sy ada surgery exam(tak start study for exam lagi pon.huhu) since surgery posting kali ni dah sampai ke penghujung nye. so far posting kali ni paling best sebab banyak kes2 menarik yang ada. antara kes yang menarik yang paling diingati adalah penis fracture.ekeke..tapi sayang sebab tak dapat tengok patiet tu instead kitaorng just dapat tgk gambar jek doctor tunjuk.huhu.doctor bagitau yang penis fracture ni biasanye terjadi time erection jek.sooo,macamana patient tu boleh kena penis fracture?fikir2 la sendiri yek.;p

selain tu, ada kejadian ngeri! ade seorang patient laki ni datang with multiple stabs dekat lengan sampai nampak sme muscle2 and tulang!,stab kat belakang smpai spine fracture,laceration di kepala sampai nmpak scalp,n cuping telinga kanan dia nyaris terputus!ngeri gila ok tengokkk..kesian pakcik tu,dia kena attack dek samseng mana ntahh.heh,org india ni mmg ganas kannn.nasib baik pakcik tu stable.owh masa sy tgk tu,kepala dah pening2 dah.darah banyak sangat kot.pastu time tgh pening2 tu,boleh plak doctor yang tengah rawat pakcik tu panggil sy,suh tolong dia tuangkan saline kat tangan pakcik tu yang tengah berdarah2 tu.omg time tu tangan dh terketar2 okeyhh.ngeri gila,but sy kuatkan semangat gak tuk berdiri sebelah pakcik tu sambil tolong doctor.baru la rs cm doctor skit.haha

next,kitrng tgk circumcision (bersunat). actually ni first time sy tgk real life! huhuhu..ape perasaan?erkkk yekkk!wakakaka..dahla patient yang datang tu pon dah tua kot.bukan budak kecik pon.dia kena buat circumcision sebab dia ada phimosis. lama gak la doctor tu buat.n patient tu bleeding.kciann..then,sy ada tgk procedure nk ambik lymph node biopsy.menarik2. other than that, macam biasa ade kes hernia, hydronephrosis, abdominal pain,etc..all i can say,this posting kali ni mmg menarik.suka surgeryyy..lepas ni medicine posting lak.ergh agak busan kalau medicine posting.sbb patient2 dia tak semenarik macam surgery's patients.

so thats all nak cerita. and esok ada exam.gila malas nak exammmm.mesti kena ambik kes ni.haih. pastu kena viva.huhuhu.nak study ape ntahh! ok dah, abis crite sal surgery, ni nak gtau duit bulan 12 dah masuk!hoooreyyyyy! dengan masuk nya duit bulan 12,bermakna boleh la beli barang idaman!weeee! pssstt..sy dah beli BB torch yang diidam2 kan tuuu.eehehhe.sukaaaa amat. thanks to my parents jugak yang beri sponsor duit(as my birthday present maybe?).kalau nak guna duit sendiri 100% mmg tak la kan.abh la duit sy camtuu.wuwuwu.

nak buat specialist ape yek?

so people *read: my family,cousin2,sedara mara,kawan ayah,kawan mak,bla bla bla* keep on asking me nk buat specialist ape eh bila dah keja nanti? pakcik makcik sme,saya belajar nak jadi general doctor pon belum abis lagi,ada lagi 2 tahun lagi, mana la saya nak fikir pasal specialist2 tu lagii..hurmm..step by step dulu leh tak. buat masa ni mari kita concentrate nak abiskan 5 years course ni dulu.

ok,sbenarnye tak dela tak fikir langsunggg..ada jek kadang2 tu cam pk,aku ni nak jadi doctor apee?takkan nak jadi MO biasa jek?tak nak ambik specialist ke?*tapi bila pk azab kena study tu,perghhhh terus cam tak best. eh eh.*

so these are my options, jadi mari kita nilai satu2 yek,mana satu yang best!

1) OBG/O n G/obstetrics and gynecology

so my top choice sejak zaman dahulu kala lagi sudah tentu mau jadi doctor pakar sakit puan. kenapa yek?well dulu ingat lagi,masa sy darjah 2 kot,my teacher penah cakap kat sy,nanti bila sy besar sy kena jadi doc pakar sakit perempuan sebab dia kata zaman sekarang, doc sakit perempuan sme laki jekk.so malu la perempuan2 nanti. so sejak tu la sy dah terkait dengan bidang sakit perempuan ni and lama2 jadi macam minat.

tapi,kenapa eh kalau time lecture obg jek,mesti la rasa mengantuk?kalau tak mengantuk pon,mest rasa busan.haish,kenapa eh?kata minat,tapi time lecture tak best la plakk. hurmmm,ni kena fikir balik nih!

2) surgery

yeps,sukaaa jadi surgeon jugakk. uish macho kot kalau perempuan jadi surgeon??hahaha. have u ever watched any of grey's anatomy's episode??yeps, they are all surgeons and if u know dr bailey?she is my idol.ewah ewah.sbb ape?sebab dia surgeon,tapi dia pendek.wahaha.*ye s pendek tettt.T.T*.so kalau tengok dia buat surgery,mesti dia berdiri atas bangku.so sapa kata org pendek tak leh jadi surgeon???ceh!hahaha..anyway,thats not my point. i wanna be a surgeon because its interesting,just that! compared to being a medicine doc,surgeons are way more adventurous. ko boleh bukak abdomen org,boleh jahit2,boleh explore human body,etc.;p.tapi masalahnyeeee nak jadi surgeon anatomy harusla tiptop!heh,tak suka tak sukaaa...tapi itu bisa diatur.kenala rajen membaca kan?tapi nak jadi rajen tu yang susah.hurm.however,ade 1 thing yg leh demotivate me, i cant stand tengok darah2 tulang2 yang terkeluar dari badan ke,or luka besar terkoyak muscles ke,ape2 je la.rasa ngeri sgt2!huhu.camne eh?meybe with years of training,rasa tu boleh subside kot.hopefully.

3) oncology

tak tahu la nape terasa oncology macam best.padahal sebenarnye ambik oncology lagi mencabar because u have to deal with severely ill cancer people,people waiting for their *death sentence*,no cure,short life expectancy, etc etc.how sad is that huh?even my autie, my closest autie,whom i love so much, jugak dah meninggal sebab cancer.meybe,thats the reason kot sbab pe oncology is on my list.meybe because of her.

4) psychiatrist

dealing with org gila,nanti aku pon leh jadi gila.haha. tapi macam best la.plus plus jadi psychiatrist tak yah nak tengok darah sepanjang masa.big point for that!

anyhow,im still thinking of other choices also besides above.

ni sme hanyala my top choices jek buat masa ni,

tapi mana la kita tau ape akan jadi in the future kan.

yang penting now,abis kan my MBBS dulu,ye wajib!

only slept for what,like 4 hours yesterday for the ENT (otolarygology/ ear nose and throat) exam.pfffttt!

and tomorrow, i have ophthalmology exam. all about the eyes. camana mata boleh ade banyak sangat penyakit sampai buku pon nak tebal dekat 2 inch?grrrrr!

uh uh uh i have 3 upcoming tests! 2 for phatology n 1 microbiology.the thing is,all of them are in 2 succecive days which is 'great!'..now which one shud i choose first to read? n both subjects need same attention...haih...

owh rite,another 18 days to go back to malaysia!!!hoooray!!!!

i am a busy woman!

its 3 am now and im up!still awake but i slept earlier from 10 to 3 am. this week gonna be a hectic week for me..i had pharmacology seminar yesterday.i think i did well eventho im kindda mengarut2 gak tyme jawab tu.haha.nervous kot! then,i have 2 tutorials for phato this week,thats what im studying now.next week,ill have 2 phatology test and microbiology test.great!what a life..

but wait..! another 24 days before im going back home,MALAYSIA!!!weeeeeeeee! icant wait any longer! im sure gonna spend this holidays to the fullest.well you see,my lil bro is going to sydney next february.so this is the last tyme im going to see him.its kindda sad u noe.coz sidney,their holidays are not the same with mine,in india.so ill probably going to see him another yearss from now.huhuhu.sad!!

owh,im getting nearer to the final!! haishh.its in march. i can imagine the tensioness that we will face another months ahead.with all the topics i need to catch up,tutorials,tests,not to forget my 3rd IA.owh i am soo in need to score for this 3rd IA or ill be dead for final!!seriusly!seriusly!!haish!

so thats why i said,this coming holiday in dec, i must spend in wisely and come back to india fresh and ready to sturggle for the final.i am praying hard that i can go through this and not left behind.ameeen..

we as doctors-going-to-be should know things that patients are allowed to take without having them to break their fasting.so here goes the list..

-inhaler

-sublingual drugs

-nose drop

-local anesthetics

-perrectum

-eye drop

-blood donating

-O2 inhaler


second, SOLAT QAUF..yess, as a surgeon that needs to perform operation for hours ,you can do solat qauf..this means you can perform solah while standing in the OT..but how to do it exactly?ive no idea..go google la!
